Programs Done in January 2024

The District Governor Manjoo Phadke was on official visit to our club on 8th Jan 2024 from 6.15 PM to 9.15 PM. The venue for the visit was Hotel Avismara. 

During the first part of the meeting DG interacted with the Rotractors and encouraged them for more active participation. During the meeting with the Strategic Committee, she appreciated the honest SWOT analysis done by the club. She provided certain tips for attracting young members and retention of members and bringing in more CSR. PE Dr Bharati Dole, President Dr. Smita Jog, PN Alka Kamble, PP Chandrashekhar Yardi were present for the Strategic committee meeting. 

The Strategic committee meeting was followed by a meeting with the Board of Directors. The directors explained briefly the work done under their avenue and future plans. During the interactive session, DG urged the directors to liaison with respective District teams to get more support from them.

The second half of the visit was a general meeting with all the members. The president called the meeting to order. National anthem was followed by the Rotary geet. The President welcomed DG, first gentleman Vishwas Phadke, AG Kalyani Gokhale, , District promotion team , Annet and PN of Rotary Club of Sunnyvale   (USA) Rutawari Sharma and the present members.   Rtn Jayant Kolhatkar from District Conference promotion team informed the members about the action packed and fun filled schedule of the conference. He appealed to the members to participate in the conference. 

RCPS always brings out a special edition of PUSH on the occasion of DG visit. PUSH was published at the hands of DG. After the publication of PUSH, Secretary Dr. Bharati Dole presented a brief review of the activities of the club and thinking behind the same. This was followed by deliberation by the President of the club projects. 

The important part of DG visit is comments by the AG. AG Kalyani Gokhale gave her impressions about the working of the club. She applauded the efficient administration of the club and expressed confidence that the club would overcome the current challenges. DG in her address, expressed satisfaction over the working of the club and happiness over the projects done. She threw light on the working of the District 3131, RI and APF and emphasized their importance. This helped in broadening the perspectives of the members of the same. 

At the end PE Dr. Bharati proposed a vote of thanks. With the President adjourning the meeting, the visit came to an end. MOC Alka Kamble had ensured that the meeting moved on smoothly and swiftly.

Prof. D. B. Deodhar award for under 19 emerging cricketer for RY 23-24  was presented to Ishwari Awasare on 15th January, 2024. This was the 33rd year of this prestigious award.  This was under Vocational Service Avenue. Coming from a very humble background, Ishwari is already a star allrounder who is an opening batter, bowler & wicket keeper too. At such a young age, she has been demonstrating her talent in under 15, under 19 & even under 23 age categories. She has so far played 188 matches, 6116 runs, 10 centuries & 92 catches (35 catches & 11 stumpings) & a superlative innings of 270* (not out) in 159 balls in a senior women’s invitation match against Jalana district.
Her coach Sunil Diwekar was also felicitated. He has more than 25 years of coaching experience with more than 2000 players trained in Divekar Cricket Academy. Many of his students have been selected at National and International level.
Our own Rtn. Pradeep Godbole addressed the gathering in his own humble way & highlighted the valuable contribution made by Prof. D. B. Deodhar to Indian Cricket. He also gave subtle tips to Ishwari. President Smitatai, Secretary Bharati & Rtn Pradeep Godbole did the award presentation.
14 Family members of Ishwari & Mr. Diwekar graced the occasion & were thrilled to witness the award ceremony along with our rotarians & anns. After President Smitatai’s closing remarks, secretary Bharati proposed a vote of thanks. All appreciated selection of awardee & conduct of the entire program.

दि.२८ जानेवारी २०२४ रोजी नवाथे लॉन्स येथे 67 रोटेरियनच्या उपस्थितीत उत्साहात पार पडलेली बावर्ची नाईट म्हणजे रोटेरियन बल्लवाचार्यांना आपले पाककला कौशल्य सिद्ध करण्याची एक नामी संधीच.

आनंद आणि जयश्री यांच्या नातीने अन्वीने, सर्व उपस्थित रोटेरियनचे छान गोड हसून उत्तम स्वागत केले.
बावर्चीच्या या खाद्य जत्रेला सुरुवात झाली ती रोटे.अनिल दामले यांच्या वेलकम ड्रिंकने ,  बरोबर रोटे. सी.डी .महाजन आणि रोटे. आनंद नवाथे यांची चटकदार भेळ , रोटे. श्रीकांत भावे यांचे स्वादिष्ट दडपे पोहे , तर रोटे.विजय गोखले आणि रोटे. अच्युत गोखले यांनी केलेले पुदिनेवाले आलू. ही झाली शाकाहारी रंगत. नॉनव्हेज मध्ये होते ते रोटे. चंद्रशेखर यार्दीनी तयार केलेले चिकन लॉलीपॉप, Spouse अशोक कांबळे यांचे रम चिकन आणि रोटे.अजय गोडबोले यांचे सुरमई फ्राय. या सगळ्याचा आस्वाद घेतल्यावर होती ती सदाबहार पावभाजी आणि कुल्फी म्हणजे सोने पे सुहागा. या नंतर जानेवारी महिन्यातले रोटेरियनचे विवाह वर्धापन दिन व वाढदिवस साजरे झाले तर गेल्या वर्षात नव्याने झालेल्या आजी–आजोबांचेही भेटवस्तू देऊन कौतुक करण्यात आले. संपूर्ण बावर्ची नाईट यशस्वी करण्याकरिता क्लबला उपलब्ध करून दिलेली जागा व त्यासाठी आवश्यक ती उत्तम व्यवस्था करण्यात सिंहाचा वाटा असलेल्या रोटे. आनंद नवाथे परिवारास भेटवस्तू देऊन आभार मानण्यात आले. या कार्यक्रमाची सांगता झाली ती अर्थातच सर्व रोटरी वल्लभाचार्यांच्या सत्काराने.
