2024-25 annual theme Revealed
Rotary International President-elect Stephanie Urchick announced the 2024-25 theme, The Magic of Rotary, at the International Assembly on 8 January. The assembly is Rotary’s annual learning event for incoming governors and leaders. Urchick, a member of the Rotary Club of McMurray, Pennsylvania, USA, called on members to use the magic of Rotary to recognize and amplify the organization’s power to save lives. She also called on them to make their Rotary clubs “simply irresistible.” (photo-Rotary theme unveiled)
RID 3131 District Conference , CONFLUENCE

RID 3131 District Conference called CONFLUENCE was held at Pandit Farms, Pune on 21,22 Jan 2024.
The conference was hosted by Rotary Club of Pune Deccan Gymnkhana.
- The RI Presidents’ Representative PRID Michael McGovern offered advice and guidance that motivated and inspired the delegates present.
- DG Manjoo Phadke welcomed all delegates and took an inspiring review of the District’s performance in various socio-economic fields, notable being:
- Infant heart surgeries 2. Car rally RID 3131 3. Rotary CSR awards etc.
Thereafter, a string of luminary speakers brought their knowledge and unique experience to the Rotarians and spouses present. Some prominent speakers were:
- DR. RAGHUNATH MASHELKAR: a renowned scientist delivered the Keynote address, where he emphasized the importance of INNOVATION for national progress.
- FLORIS BOVELANDER, Dutch Hockey Olympian : He has gone out of the way to help Indians in improving their hockey game.
- Capt. RAKESH SHARMA: The only Indian Astronaut till date. He gave a thrilling account of his training in Russia for space travel, the experience of circumambulating the earth and his instant words of admiration that have become history: SARE JAHAN SE ACHHA , HINDUSTAN HAMARA.
- SANDEEP PATIL: Former Indian Cricketer, Gave a jaw dropping account of his participation in the WORLD CUP that India won under Captaincy of Kapil Dev. He brought home the importance of TEAM SPIRIT in the game.
- PRASHANT DAMLE: Actor. He regaled everyone with his interesting stories from the glittering world of films. Despite his health setback at one time, Prashant bounced back with full gusto. His performance on the stage of the theatre too is noteworthy.
- SHARMILA OSWAL: The Millet woman of India , who has been part of the millet mission for the last 20 years.
And many more extraordinary speakers.
- The District Directors of each ROTARY AVENUE spoke at length about their respective avenue’s performance and plans.
